Prototype Information

Door and a half 60' boxcar from AC&F. MP had quite a few of these, and I've always loved their look. They also weather quite nicely- here are a couple of examples:

Model Information

To construct this car, I started with an Atlas 60' undecorated ACF single door boxcar. I cut an extra set of doors down to the size of the half door, and fabricated door tracks out of styrene strip.
Weathering is a mix of oils and chalks (back to the chalk on this one), the chalk providing that dusty color that the cars have. While not dead on, it's good enough for me I think.
