Project Background

I love these Athearn Genesis cars- they're really well done. I had one I'd done some time ago which was fine but underwhelming. I took some inspiration from a Youtuber named Dan (channel here), and decided to give it an overhaul. Patched for DRGW, added some rust, fading and grime. Pleased with how it turned out.

Painting & Weathering

Standard stuff: acrylic fade, with some scrubbing of the heraldry. Washes on the ribs.

Summary

Pleased with the result, and it looks SO much better than before.
