Travel Photography

While taking lots of pictures of trains, I discovered a desire to get more proficient at photos. Spurred by books like Roger Ingbretsen's Spectacular Railroad Photography, and Gary Benson's The Art of Railroad Photography, I decided to invest a bit in some additional equipment and try to get better. As one does, the camera would accompany me on family vacations, and got put to use on our family sabbatical in 2013.

My first digital SLR was a fairly basic Nikon D50, which was great for a very long time. I had a couple of lenses (main lens was 28-200mm, but also got a lot of use from my 70-300mm), and got very good results much of the time.
